Capability Building Services for the CRC for Water Sensitive Cities
CRC for Water Sensitive Cities
E2Designlab are SME partners with the CRCWSC and have been active participants since its inception. In the past 4 years we have been key contributors to the development and delivery of capacity building services for the CRCWSC as it moves from research into promoting industry uptake of research outcomes and tools. Our team delivered a series of over 20 case studies and supporting demonstration projects to assist in the adoption of Water Sensitive City outcomes. We provided technical guidance for the refinement of the WSC Index Tool and piloted with industry practitioners and subsequently benchmarked over 20 municipalities. We also trialled other new tools which the CRCWSC developed to help our clients understand the benefits. An example of this is our numerous uses of the new INFFEWS cost benefit analysis tools where we have been able to demonstrate the value of projects such as conversion of concrete drains into natural channels and the irrigation of parks and street trees with harvested stormwater. We are also involved in the development of the Scenario Tool and have used this on several projects to test the urban heat mitigation benefits achieved through different urban form and blue-green infrastructure scenarios. We have tested and [provided feedback on the RESTORE Tool Waterway Restoration Pilot Application. Our knowledge and experience in the application of the new tools and or involvement in previous tools roadshows, resulted in the CRCWSC requesting that we pull together a new presentation to provide a narrative of how all of their tools can be used to assist in the transition towards Water Sensitive Cities.
