Restoring the Waters - Restoration of Clear Paddock Creek
Fairfield City Council
Clear Paddock Creek is within the Georges River Catchment in south-western Sydney. Under a catchment-wide vision, the project removed 2.5km of concrete-lined stormwater channel and reinstated the natural creek system with riparian planting. The rehabilitated waterway now has vastly improved ecological value while still providing flood protection for the local community. Integrated design along with strong community and stakeholder involvement through the process resulted in a successful restoration project.
